We braved the crowds this morning at the Hilo Parks and Rec Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Definitely not an event for those who don't like crowds or slight disorganization...
Apparently they decided to do things "differently" this year and hold the under 4 egg hunt in a contained space- parents NOT allowed. I guess it's because in previous years, parents were bulldozing toddlers so that they could gather as many eggs as possible. Sounds like a good change except that instead there were crying toddlers who didn't want to go in to hunt without mommy or daddy and parents yelling to their kids through the fence "pick up the eggs! pick up the eggs!!"
Anyway, I wasn't sure Lance would go in, but after talking strategy with daddy and joining up with his best buddy Cruz, he went for it! Something about our little guy walking across the batting cage with his empty bag all by himself heading for the eggs was too cute to capture on film. But anyway, here are a few photos and a short video of Lance's success in his first easter egg "hunt." The best part? The eggs were all filled with hard candies that are obviously a complete choking hazard for kids in this range! Only in ol' Hilo town... only in Hilo.

Boo Boo
Not his first, not his last, but the scariest and bloodiest accident yet...
Lance tripped and hit his head on the corner of the coffee table making a small but deep cut right above his eye. Daddy chose not to stitch it up and instead used glue and steri-strips to close the wound... it's been two weeks of bandaids trying to keep it from scarring and Lance is getting pretty attached to his "boo boo bandaids." Even though his doesn't know who Spiderman is, they are his favorites.
Here are a couple shots of me and the boys two weeks ago at 34 weeks. I'll be 36 this weekend which means #2's arrival is right around the corner!

Julie and John in Hilo!
Two old friends with babies in the belly, two wonderful hubbies, Lance, the dogs, and no plans made for an awesome visit from John and Julie. The best part? John's parents have a place on the other side of the island, which means we'll be doing this again soon- although with babies, not bumps! I'm already looking forward to it.
