The First Post!

Oh my goodness, am I actually blogging? Crazy what the impending world of parenthood will inspire you to do...

Well, here you have it. The Harmeling family's official blog! We're hoping to keep it updated with scoops on the pregnancy, Lance's arrival and all of the upcoming things parents think are so exciting that friends and family might like to share in also... since you are all so far away, this seems like a good way to keep everyone posted with the latest.

Here we are... a family of four, getting ready to add our newest member. It's been the four of us for almost five years!

Now we are ready to add our fifth Harmeling- check out the pics below to see how much he (and I) have grown over the past months.

Here they are- hopefully you can read the cleverly placed postits!

Let's introduce little Lance, since he is the star of this blog, afterall. In case you didn't already know, we found out we were having a boy on April 8, and knew immediately that his name would be Lance. We like to call him little (or lil') Lance since he is named after his uncle, (Big) Lance. We are so excited to honor Lance's memory with a namesake!

Stef and Big Lance, many years ago:

Does this below photo remind any one of the little boy running? Imagine arms out, legs running and a big, tooth filled smile across his face. That's my image of Lance. What a great smile. I built this stone image at Kilauea Volcano years ago when Butter and I first moved to the Big Island of Hawaii. I'm sure that the stone is gone by now but I still really love this photo.- Stefan

Here are some pics from Little Lance's ultrasounds along the way.

Lance at 11wks:

Lance at 18 weeks... It's a BOY!

Lance at 28 weeks:

Don't you just love his legs already?? Stef likes to think he gets them from him, and I hope they are his too... I'll feel pretty sorry for the little guy if he ends up with my shorties. But, we'll love him anyway!

We just can't WAIT to meet our boy. The last 34 weeks have been filled with lots of anticipation, anxieties and hopes. It's hard to believe there's just a little over a month before he makes his big debut. To be honest, I feel a little strange starting this blog before we have him safe and sound in our arms, but as I'm learning, letting go and trusting the whole pregnancy thing is part of the process!

sorry, we don't have any pregnant pics of Stefan, but here's one of the two of us on our babymoon- wine tasting (tiny sips) on the central coast of California.

so... how did we do with our first ever blog post? pretty exciting!
